ARTIST STATEMENT

Through a self-reflective lens, my artistic practice explores the connections between objects, memory, and identity.

The core of my body of work consists of large-scale archival watercolor paintings on canvas. I weave together everyday objects, familiar plants and animals, personal mementos, and ornamental motifs into meticulously crafted symmetrical designs. These compositions function as a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic Rorschach inkblot test—a psychological tool in which viewers interpret ambiguous, mirrored forms.

By framing these disparate elements in symmetry, they morph into open-ended forms, moving these personal symbols and objects into a shared space of reflection. Like the Rorschach test, my work encourages viewers to reflect on their unique identities and histories, making my artwork both a reflection of my own identity and an invitation for viewers to explore theirs.
